September 2017
On September 23, 2017 Cathy Cayton asked for our help. Her longtime friend, Kathy Ttrittschuh, was distraught because the nursing home where her disabled husband, Edward, was a client had threatened to release him without anywhere else to go. Edward, is a decorated U.S. Army Veteran, and very much loved by Kathy. Apparently, Edward’s 100 days of Medicare payments had expired, and his pension would not cover the entire expense.
Shortly thereafter, a Hometown Hero Veteran representative contacted the nursing facility and spoke to the Administrator. Utilizing skills acquired in the military, the Hometown Hero Rep reminded the Administrator that short term tactics should always be viewed in the context of their company’s overall long term public relation strategy. Needless to say, the facility Administrator recognized the potential negative public relations impact the situation could create, and agreed to allow Edward to stay.
